The History of the Pembroke Table

Pembroke, or breakfast tables were highly fashionable throughout the mid-18th Century. In this seminar Chuck Bender will cover some of the history of the form as well as show some of the regional variations in design. Chuck will also demonstrate how to layout and make the knuckle joint and fly rail that supports the drop leaves of the tables. He will also demonstrate several methods of embellishment (i.e. gadrooning, rope carving and inlay) that often adorn these useful, and decorative, little tables.
