Description
In the Power Tool Fundamentals class, you’ll learn how to set up, care for, and use the basic stationary power tools in many shops. I’ll show you how to safely use a jointer, planer, bandsaw, router table (also handheld), and table saw. I’ll cover everything from what to look for when you buy to how to maintain the machine once it’s in your shop. And, of course, safety, safety, and more safety.
Power Tool Fundamentals
The three-day Power Tool Fundamentals class begins with an overview of each machine, how they work, and potential problems. We’ll spend time troubleshooting common problems and exploring solutions for uncommon uses. You’ll work on multiple exercises for each machine to develop good safety habits, and you’ll go home with a small project.
Some of the skills learned in the Power Tool Fundamentals class are:
- How to analyze and resolve machine adjustment problems
- Developing good safety habits from the start
- Best practices for safe, accurate, and repeatable results
Materials are included in the class fee.
Each student should supply his, or her, own:
