In the 5-day Pembroke Table hands-on class, you’ll stretch your woodworking skills. You’ll be reproducing a table from Newport, Rhode Island that was originally made by Holmes Weaver in approximately 1795.
From its graceful tapered legs to its elegant oval top, this Pembroke table is in every way a masterpiece. You’ll begin the week fitting mortise-and-tenon joints, tapering legs, and installing string inlay and making bellflowers. The week concludes with the creation of knuckle joints that support the drop leaves, and installation of the table top.
Some of the skills learned in the Pembroke Table class are:
- How to make knuckle joints
- Create string inlay and bellflowers
- Make perfect rule joints
